Mrs. Livelys Cajun Konnection

This is a cute little restaurant located by a boat ramp that is hidden away from view. The service is superb from the owner who was talkative and very friendly. The Cajun food was excellent plenty with tasty boudin, alligator balls, shrimp and grits, and good mudbugs. The seasoning on the mud bugs was tasty but there was a begiyamd end nothing in between. Still tasty. I loved the mardi grA beads and the music. Certain worth the trip.

As a Texas transplant/Louisiana-native, the Cajun offerings in the DFW area have been a recurring and tremendous disappointment. What a joy to literally stumble upon this hidden gem in Lake Dallas while exploring a nearby bike trail with the family. The boudin balls are just like home, the gumbo is ACTUALLY award-winning (and amazing), I scarfed down as much fried okra as possible, and the catfish is fantastic! The owner was as friendly and open as the atmosphere he's created in this little spot. We can't wait to come back on a Friday or Saturday night to hear the live music! If you're craving Cajun, this is the place! And BYOB!!

Great experience for me. This was my second time here, although the first time was at their previous location at Lake Dallas. We had the Crispy Calamari to start and they were great. A little larger than the ones I have had at other seafood restaurants but still great in taste. For the main course, we had the Alligator Ball Basket. Very tasty indeed. The fries and the hush puppies that came along with it were great too. Very crispy. We also had some Gumbo and I can easily say that these were the best gumbo I have had outside of Louisiana. Finally for dessert, we had the Southern Apple Bread Pudding. Very similar to the ones that I have had in New Orleans and it was a great way to end our dinner. The service was great and we will surely be coming back soon. Highly recommended!

My son and I recently visited Mrs. Lively's Cajun Konnection. It's down by the lake at the end of Hundley Drive in Lake Dallas just before the entrance to the park and marina. For starters, we ordered the Boudin balls and the alligator balls. Both the boudin balls and the alligator balls were excellent. The owner greeted us at the table and made us feel welcome for our dinner. We both got the seafood platter, which had 2 pieces of catfish, which were a generous portion, shrimp, oysters, and hushpuppies. The platter platters also came with French fries. I got the sweet potato waffle fries, and my son got the regular crinkle fries. They also had several homemade sauces to choose from for dipping. Overall, the food was delicious, and we had a great experience. We plan to go back.

First time customers, and will be back!! All you can eat Catfish, Cajun Pasta, delicious appetizers, and mouthwatering deserts!! Thank you Kevin, staff, and applause to the cook!! Yall did good!!

Well considering they close at 9pm when Google says 10 pm, and they graciously let us order is enough for a 5 star review. Blackened catfish, crawfish etouffee, Cajun Mac n cheese, okra, and dirty rice where really good! I requested a change in time for them 😄 and apparently that had been an issue before. The atmosphere was great, lovely music and cool new Orleans feel all around.

First visit but definitely not my last. The gumbo was delicious and the catfish is some of the best I've had. The staff made us feel at home! See y'all again soon in the new location.
